Gang Appearance
The library is an old church-type building with an A-frame roof and a tower that used to hold a bell but now is blocked up from the library itself and empty (ideal for Chiro to perch in). The walls have been reinforced with an added layer of concrete and steel bars, with a layer of scrap metal between the original walls and the new ones, and the roof has been given a metal layer as well - both for a stronger layer and also to make it slippery for people to walk on. The front entrance has two doors, the first leading visitors into a small atrium-like area with guest weapon lockers (visitors are encouraged but not required to bring their own padlocks), a library card scanner (required for entering the library), and a cocoa pick-up area (not required for entry). Inside, the library is much as one would expect, with the main floor being where the main books are kept on their shelves and the checkout desk near the doors, though the more rare reference books are kept in a secure location and are not permissible for checkout. Near the far wall is a reading area near a fireplace, and visitors are encouraged to sip their cocoa here in front of the fire with a nice book to read. Upstairs is a balcony with an open view of the main floor of the library and is where the children's books are kept, with a small reading area with beanbags for the kiddies to enjoy their books. Here is where Argentor's "sunning spot" is as well, and children are allowed to cuddle up to him while reading - with the added bonus that the light reflecting from his scales makes for very good reading visibility. In the upstairs level is also where Cicero's bedroom and workshop is kept, where the main repairs and restorations to books occur. In the attic is where Chiro makes his bedroom, as the library's 'bat in the belfry', and it gives him a good view of the library at large if he peeks out of the attic door - which is inaccessible to guests. B, both Chiro and Cicero have their own mini-fridges and hotplates in their rooms as a small kitchen area. Behind a specific bookcase is a secret room, which is the lair of Discordia and Argentor. This lair is only known to the other members of the Bookwyrms, as the "door" is kept shut and locked when the library is open and no mention is made of it to outsiders; the lair was the former living area of the previous librarians.
Gang Background
The library was once owned by a Reno family, but its residents disappeared years ago. Since their disappearance, many of the library's books had been looted or otherwise left to weather the elements in a broken-in building that began to decline in its abandonment. When Discordia and Argentor discovered the building it was in dire need of repair, with only a few hundred of its original thousands of books remaining, and almost all of those in desperate need of repair and TLC. Together with the help of Cassie, they made the necessary repairs and updates to the building to make it livable, and with the addition of their book repair artist they were eventually able to open the library to the public once again.
